a bit about me

Hello! My name is Dr. Ana Rosell, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I earned both my Master of Science in Nursing and my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees from Florida International University, where my doctoral research focused on the long-term impact of unresolved childhood trauma. I work with adolescents (16+), adults, and older adults (65+), offering psychiatric evaluations, medication management (both controlled and non-controlled), and supportive psychotherapy when appropriate. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and panic disorder, and I approach every patient with empathy, curiosity, and respect. My style is warm, collaborative, and person-centered — I truly believe that mental health care works best when we build a partnership grounded in trust and understanding. My philosophy is simple: you are the expert of your story, and I’m here to help you make sense of your symptoms, strengthen your coping tools, and feel more like yourself again.

In practice, I use a mix of treatment approaches to make sure you feel supported from every angle. I start by getting to know you through a thoughtful psychiatric evaluation, and if medication is part of your plan, I’ll guide you through that process in a way that feels clear and collaborative. I also pull from evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness strategies to help you build practical tools for daily life. One of my priorities is psychoeducation — I want you to understand what’s going on and why, because feeling informed is a powerful step toward feeling better. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that fits your goals and lifestyle, and I’ll be here with consistent follow-ups and support. My goal is to make your care feel grounded, approachable, and genuinely human.

Your first visit with me is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to share what has brought you in. We’ll talk about your current concerns, your medical and mental health history, and anything else that feels important to you. I’ll also complete a mental status exam, discuss my initial impressions, and go over a diagnosis if one is appropriate. From there, we’ll explore treatment options together — whether that includes medication, therapy referrals, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling validated, understood, and hopeful about the path forward.

I pride myself on building genuine, human connections with my patients. I show up with empathy, openness, and zero judgment. Many of the individuals I work with tell me they feel comfortable with me quickly — which is incredibly important when talking about things that can feel vulnerable or difficult. I practice with a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens, honoring each person’s lived experience. My doctoral studies on childhood adversity and marginalized populations give me a deeper understanding of how past experiences shape current struggles — and how to support healing in a way that feels safe and tailored to each person. Above all, I strive to make every session feel like a space where you can take a breath, be honest, and know you’re not alone.

I work well with adolescents (16+), adults, and older adults (65+) navigating a wide range of mental health challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, OCD, trauma-related conditions, LGBTQ+ mental health concerns, sleep issues, mood and personality-related symptoms, thought disorders, and many more. I have a special passion for supporting patients from marginalized communities and individuals who carry the weight of unresolved trauma or difficult childhood experiences. If you are looking for a compassionate psychiatric provider who listens closely, collaborates openly, and values your unique story, I would love the opportunity to work with you. Together, we can build a plan that supports healing, resilience, and meaningful change.
